Nigeria Customs Service Seizes Rice Worth 597.7bn In Abuja

The Nigeria Customs Service (NCS) said it seized rice worth N597.7 billion brought into the country through the borders between January, 2016 and August, 2016.

The Public Relations Officer of the administration, Mr Wale Adeniyi, made this known in a meeting with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Abuja on Tuesday.

He said that the value of the ware reallocated amid the period was higher when contrasted and N330.5 billion estimation of the great seized in the same time frame in 2015.

He said that the expansion in the seizures meant that the traditions was working zero resistance to illicit importation of rice.

Adeniyi said that the administration's rapprochement with its partner in the Republic of Benin additionally encouraged the spate of reallocation of rice along the outskirts between both nations.
