Deadly armed robbers on Tuesday, attacked a bullion van belonging to the Central Bank of Nigeria and killing two policemen. The occurrence happened at Hawan Kibo along the Jos-Abuja Road.
The bullion van and the policemen were assaulted in the early hours of Tuesday in transit to Abuja from Jos.
It was accumulated that the looters assaulted the van after it went through a military checkpoint along Hawan Kibo. The looters, who were in military garbs, rose up out of a bramble and connected with the police group in a shootout.
Amid the trading of gunfire, two policemen were murdered.
One of the expired policemen was recognized as Sergeant Anthony Jawa, of the Police Mobile Force, Unit 8, Jos.
The stunning episode was affirmed by the Police Public Relations Officer, ASP Tyopev Terna. He said, "Some policemen were slaughtered, yet we don't have their number yet."
Punch reports that the CBN bullion van had been taken to the Federal Road Safety Commission office, in Riyom, as of press time.
